The White iPhone 4 is not supposed to be available yet. However, in a report broadcast by Sky News in the UK today several people can clearly be seen walking around with them.
One of the people holding a White iPhone 4 is certainly not a member of the Apple Store staff, and the iPhone 4 she is holding is clearly white and not tethered. In the report she is describing some of the features she feels are lacking from the device. It is unclear if she is a customer or a reporter. But I certainly don’t recognise her as a Sky News regular.
This seems particularly strange when the white model is not being sold elsewhere in the world as far as we know, and UK supplies are rumoured to be extremely constrained.
Anecdotally, if you want to know where in the UK the iPhone 4 is readily available. Here’s a hint: Avoid major stores in London. My brother picked up 3 iPhone 4s the day after launch, in a total in store and queuing time of 5 minutes. Not in London.
Have you seen any White iPhone 4s as demo models, or on sale? How long were you queuing? Let us know in the comments.
