Apple on Wednesday announced that white iPhone 4 will go on sale in US (and 27 other countries) on April 28. The original iPhone 4 was made available last year in June and even though Steve Jobs said that it would come in two colors the white model never hit the store shelves. After almost 10 months of its release Apple is finally making the white version available to its customers.
It was widely believed that Apple faced white paint issues and did not achieve the quality they had initially hoped for. However, with the release of white iPad 2 from day one everyone was anticipating an announcement regarding white iPhone 4 soon.
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in a press release said, “The white iPhone 4 has finally arrived and it’s beautiful,” and emaphasied on the fact that they had finally got “every detail right.”
Verizon customers would be happy to know that white iPhone 4 will be available on the CDMA network in addition to AT&T’s GSM network. The phone will cost the same as the black iPhone and the list of countries which will carry the new phone include : Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Macau, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK and the US
There is obviously no major change in design except the proximity sensor which reportedly performs better.
