Untethered Jailbreak for all future A4 firmwares : MuscleNerd

It’s been a good week for all iOS jailbreak fans, with the release of both Limera1n and Greenpois0n in a matter of days. Today, the Dev Team member MuscleNerd commented that the jailbreaks for future versions of iOS are going to keep on coming!

A tweet from the aforementioned MuscleNerd claims that the jailbreak kings may have discovered a way to make the current jailbreak hacks work, untethered, with all future iOS releases running on Apple’s A4 architecture. For those not familiar with their CPUs, that means the current iPad, iPhone 4 and fourth generation iPod. I’m also assuming the new Apple TV is also included, but that’s not been confirmed as yet.

The significance here is that if this works as intended, the only way Apple will be able to stop jailbreaking will be to change their devices at the hardware level – no firmware update alone will stop the hack. No more avoiding new iOS updates and no more waiting for new jailbreak tools. That’s the idea, anyway!

Would that be Hackers 1, Apple 0 perhaps?
