To reduce signs of aging and to try stop many diseases, experts suggest we follow an anti-inflammatory diet. Not knowing which foods effect your inflammation though is hard as you won’t find this fact on any food labels. This is where IF Tracker from the developers Looking Glass can help you.
All you need do is make a note of the foods you have eaten or that you are considering to eat. Look at the app to find out the results and add up your IF ratings making sure you stay in the positive range. The app follows a simple system. For anti-inflammatory foods they are marked as positive and foods that may cause inflammation these are recorded as a negative. Obviously you don’t need to avoid all the negative foods just eat them in moderation for a healthier diet.
The app is easy to navigate, to search simple hit the search button and type in the food you are looking for. Then once you have found the food it will tell you all the nutritional information you will need, calories, fat, protein, and carbohydrate content. Also of course the IF rating. You can if you like even adjust the serving size you have for the food.
You can also just browse the foods to see what each food in different categories contains. You can browse by A-Z of names or IF rating within the food category you have selected. There is also the option to compare different variations of a food, for example raw or cooked and raw or dried foods.
Within the app is a journal to record the days nutritional information. Here it will keep a record of your IF rating, calories, proteins and fats and also a list of the foods you have eaten. This is great for checking back at how you have improved your diet since you first started and to see how well you are doing.
If you have a recipe of your meal you made you can also add that and keep it as a log should you wish to use it again. As with all the other options you can amend the quantities and foods you used and delete it if need be.
IF Tracker is very easy to use and the results are clear at a glance. It only takes a few minutes to input the food items each time. The app has a good amount of foods listed and in different variations so the food you need is most likely going to be found.
At the front of the page within the app it will show your rating so you can see straight away on launching the app what your score is at present. A great app for anyone wanting to eat a healthier diet and improve the IF rating.
