Most third-party accessory manufacturers often produce cases for Apple’s unannounced products based on rumours about the dimensions and screen size posted online. However, sometimes the same manufacturers manage to get insider information through workers in China working in the supply chain.

According to a recent report published by 9to5Mac, Apple has begun cracking down on third-party accessory vendors who seek out information outside of Apple for product specifications of upcoming products to make their products available ahead of their competitors. The agreement states that Apple can exercise its right to remove the accessory from Apple Stores if its finds that the vendor sought information ahead of any new product release.

It remains to be seen if this move by Apple will discourage accessory makers from sharing the details or publishing the photos online.
