Staples, the Framingham, Massachusetts based office supply chain store is now adding a number of new products to their store sales, something other than office supplies. After rumors last month that Staples was looking to sell Apple products, the chain has officially begun carrying Apple accessories in their US online store.
Some of the accessories include Smart Covers for the iPad, power adapters, cables, headphones, mice and keyboards. Other products will also be available, such as the Apple TV, Time Capsule, as well as the AirPort Extreme/Express base stations. Despite the chain carrying all of these accessories, it is not yet authorized to carry products such as the iPhone, iPod, iPad, or any of the Macs available at other retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart.
However, according to a previous report from MacRumors, It has been rumored that Staples will get the entire lineup of Macs, iPads, as well as the iPhone 5 in late March. The report does note, however, that the products may only be available at high-volume Staples stores and that employee training and store setup are the reasons for late arrival of the products.
Apple’s products are slowly becoming part of every retailer that sells electronics, with Staples being the latest chain to become an authorized reseller. The Massachusetts based company is now advertising the availability of Apple accessories in a pop-up ad on their homepage online.
