On Friday Skype reportedly uploaded a demo video of their upcoming app ‘Skype for iPad’ and then removed it from YouTube. Currently the company offers only the iPhone version on the App Store and was rumored to be working on the iPad version.

The iPad version is a complete re-design and takes advantage of the large screen. ‘Skype for iPad’ supports video chat and you can use both front and back camera just like FaceTime. Full-screen video call is also supported and you can easily access the dial pad from the top right to enter a phone number and make a call using Skype Credit.

While you are engaged in a video chat you will still be able to send an instant message and insert emoticons too. According to TUAW, Skype VP of Consumer and product design Rick Osterloh has confirmed that the the app would be approved “soon”.

It’s not clear if the app will support video calls over 3G but if rumors about Apple enabling FaceTime over 3G turn out to be true then it’s highly possible that even Skype could support it.
