Sally’s Spa HD [rating: 5/5]

I’ve read a lot about Sally’s Salon and often seen in at the top of the charts but it’s never appealed to me. Now however I’ve been given the task of reviewing the latest incarnation, Sally’s Spa HD. It appears that Sally has moved on from her Salon and is moving up in the world as she travels the world helping her friend out buy starting in a new venture of Spa’s.

The game is a time management sim where you take the role of Sally and are tasked with keeping her Salon in good order. You’ll start the game on Laguna Beach with a sauna, massage chair and a massage table to treat your customers to a relaxing, invigorating day at the spa.

As each customer appears they will show their requirements and you can drag and drop them to the appropriate area. They usually go from one area to the next in order but that’s not always the case and some customers who are less patient than others will look to jump the queue and will get frustrated if not attended to in a timely manner.

Sally's Spa HD

I feel relaxed

Each customer has a 5 star rating as to how pleased they are with their day at the spa and being made to wait too long will surely see their star rating drop. You do have ways to keep everyone happy though, there are magazines for them to read and relaxing cups of tea to drink. This all comes at a price though and so you will have to re-invest your earnings wisely.

As you progress through the 10 locations and 50 levels you’ll not only get to upgrade your existing equipment and also add additional treatments such as the Supreme Mani Pedi Chair where you can pamper your customers hands and feet.

Many of the treatments are interactive, you rub the screen to apply customers facials, place stones on your customers backs for their heat massage and select the customers favorite bath salts and so their is always something for Sally and her assistants, that you can and need to hire, to do.

The graphics look great on the big screen and the animations are fun and effective too. You can also choose to listen to the in game music and sound effects or play iPod music instead, the choice is yours.

While the single player game is a lot of fun and will keep you entertained for many hours especially considering the 30 achievements via the Game Center integration there is also a 2 player option via the Best Friends game mode.

Sally's Spa HD Multiplayer

Let's play Sally's Spa HD

Best Friends allows you to play in split screen mode with a friend on a single iPad in a co-operative mode where you both share the duties of a single Spa. This is a great new feature and is great fun to play.

If, like me, you have not tried the ‘Sally’ range of games before than there is no better time than now as Sally’s Spa HD for the iPad is a wonderful game that will provide you hours of enjoyment and fun.

I want one!!!!!! I love TM games on the iPad and I’ve actually never played any of the Sally series but I’ve heard they are excellent! Thank you for the contest opportunity and to the generous developers for giving the codes!
