Refurbished iPad 2 Models Make First Appearance on Apple’s Online Store

Apple has begun selling refurbished iPad 2 models on its online store, allowing customers to save a substantial amount of money on what would otherwise be an expensive investment. Discounts are currently $50 off the price of the brand new unit, something that is considered a good save on an iPad 2.

Apple’s refurbished products are fairly new. However, Apple replaces the outer shell of the defective devices, repairs any defective parts, and puts in a brand new battery, essentially giving users a brand new iPad 2.

Refurbished Models that are currently available in the U.S. online store include:

– 64 GB Wi-Fi: both colors ($649)
– 32 GB Wi-Fi + 3G: all four carrier/color combinations ($679)
– 64 GB Wi-Fi + 3G: all four carrier/color combinations ($779)

Refurbished iPad 2 models hold the same warranty as all other units sold by Apple and is covered by the same policies. Apple usually uses refurbished iPads in order to replace defective iPads in their retail stores and places them up for sale before a refresh.

Apple’s iPad 3 is rumored to be available for sale early next year, possibly allowing Apple to clear out current stock of refurbished and new iPad 2 in order to make way for the next gen devices.

Current shipping estimates for the iPad 2 clock in around 1-3 business days. Combined with a good shipping estimate, a lower price, and newer parts, this deal is as good as it can get.
