Next Gen iPod Nano to house 1.3 Megapixel Camera?

Next Gen iPod Nano Camera

Earlier today, Taiwanese site Apple.pro put up photos of what they claim to be the casing of the 7th generation iPod nano. The photo clearly shows a camera hole, which is rumored to house a 1.3 megapixel camera.

While the camera is still anemic in terms of megapixels, it is still better than that of the current generation iPod touch and even the iPad 2. However, another interesting point, the absence of a clip, which was brought up when pictures were revealed earlier this year seems to clear up the idea of where the camera module would go.

It seems that Apple is taking a new route with its iPod nano line, after marketing it as a On the Go device that clips to your clothes. It should be interesting to see what the Cupertino based company has prepared for it’s new iPod line-up. Apple is widely expected to refresh the iPod line-up during its annual music event in September. In addition to 7th gen iPod nano it is believed that the fifth gen iPod touch will support Apple’s A5 chip. Rumors have also been circulating, that Apple is to release the iPhone 5 alongside iOS 5 this upcoming fall.
