Netflix released an update today addressing some issues with their iOS application. Netflix addressed the issue with iOS 4.3.4 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch (and iOS 4.2.9 for Verizon iPhone) and even took it a step further by releasing an update for iOS 5.
iOS 5 is currently still in it’s beta phase and is only available to registered developers. Developers who have been having issues with their Netflix application should download the update in order to resolve issues associated with bugs in the app.
This is one of the first apps to release updates for a software release which is sill in beta and may set the stage for other major apps to adopt this idea. Developers currently running iOS 5 beta 4 reported that they had to update the application, and then reinstall it in order for the patch to go into effect. This seems like a reasonable update and any developers looking to keep using Apple’s iOS 5 and Netflix together should download the latest update.
iOS 5 is expected to be available later this fall and could coincide with the release of iPhone 5.
