iPhone 5 Getting Ready for iOS 5 As Apple Sends Final Build to Assemblers?

According to a new report posted by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo Apple is reportedly getting ready to send the GM (gold master) build of iOS 5 to iPhone 5 partners who assemble the device. Further, the next major version of iOS is expected to reach the iPhone 5 assemblers around September 23rd.

We’ve already covered rumors and reports suggesting that the fifth gen iPhone would be unveiled during a media event later this month and could go on sale during mid-October. So, it seems logical for Apple to seed the GM build around that timeframe.

Contrary to various rumors, Kuo has apparently seen no evidence of the all-new iPhone 5 with a radical design. His sources however did refer to “N94″ model which has been commonly dubbed as “iPhone 4S“. Apple is known to adopt extreme measures to hide the designs for its next-gen product so the actual design would obviously be revealed during the official launch.

Apple’s iPhone 5 is expected to feature the dual-core A5 chip and include 1GB RAM, high-resolution 8 megapixel camera, and have tapered edges with an overall thin design.

We can expect the Cupertino based company to make a public announcement regarding the media event soon. The October time frame is also expected to push iPhone sales; as users would be we more willing to upgrade their phones during the holiday season.
