With the iPhone 5 keynote event scheduled on September 12th, more and more part leaks are beginning to appear, revealing plenty of details about the next gen iPhone. The latest leak comes from site iResQ, which released images of the iPhone 5 and compared it to the current iPhone 4S to gauge thickness between the two smartphones. Late last month, iResQ released images of the flex cables for the iPhone 5 as well as for the upcoming iPad Mini.

The latest images appears to be a fully assembled model, missing the logic board and a few other pieces. With the device fully assembled, it is clear that the iPhone 5 is substantially thinner than the iPhone 4S and appears to be different in design, particularly with the glass flushed with the metal band, unlike the 2 “sandwiched” pieces of glass on the 4S.

The iPhone 5 is expected to have a larger 4 inch screen, a redesigned dock connector, relocated FaceTime camera and headphone jack, and may also include faster 4G LTE networking. The iPhone 5, following its announcement on September 12th, is expected to go on sale in both carrier stores and in Apple’s Retail Stores on September 21st.

Apple’s sixth-gen iPhone announcement event may also see introduction of new iPod lineup for the holiday season. Are you excited about the media event? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
