Earlier today, Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) announced that iPhone 4S pre-Orders have topped one million, in the first 24 hours. That’s a new record for any iPhone, since the introduction of the original in 2007. Phil Schiller released a statement mentioning that this is a new record for any product launch that has Apple managed.

We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.

The iPhone 4S pre-orders, now top the record of the iPhone 4 which sold 600,000 units on the first day. AT&T previously announced that they are responsible for 200,000 of the iPhone 4S pre-orders. Apple is experiencing great success with the iPhone 4S, which according to some analysts received a minor upgrade from its predecessor.

The record figures for iPhone 4S is likely to put constraints on the number of devices available for customers to buy when it is available in the retail stores. Pre-orders for the popular iPhone 4S began on October 7th and will be available for sale in retail stores on October 14th.

Apple’s iPhone 4S features 8 megapixel camera with improved optics, dual-core A5 chip, 512MB RAM, improved wireless system, HSPA+ technology and is a world phone capable of running on GSM and CDMA carriers.
