Must See: iFixit iPhone 4 Teardown

When I was a kid my Dad used to buy me a watch every Christmas. Until he noticed a pattern. It was usually not working by Boxing Day. I just had to take anything new apart to see just how it worked. No matter how special it was to me. I couldn’t help myself!

35 years later iFixit save me the same trouble with Apple gear. Where were those guys when I was 5!?!

Earlier today iFixit did a fantastic job of ripping a new iPhone 4 apart, purely in the interest of scientific discovery, of course. If you haven’t seen the Teardown you really should.

They confirmed that the iPhone 4 is beautifully put together. That it has 512 MB of RAM, and a front panel made of Gorilla Glass.

They also exposed some of the interesting components inside, like the new Gyroscope. And exactly how clever the design of the Stainless Steel surround is as a three piece ariel for all of the radios in the iPhone 4.

If you haven’t seen it yet you should check it out. Link below for you.

What do you think is the most impressive part of the new iPhone 4, architecturally? Let us know in the comments.
