iOS 5.1 Beta 2 Allows Deleting Photo Stream Photos from Device

ios51beta2On Monday, Apple released iOS 5.1 Beta 2 to developers with build number 9B5127c. The new software update fixes a number of bugs in iOS 5 and brings one of the most requested features to iOS devices. Photo Stream now gives users the ability to delete select photos, something that could not be done in the past.

Prior to this update, customers had to delete an entire album in order to delete the photo that they did not want to see, or did not want others to see. When the iPad or iPhone would be connected to an Apple TV, the images would automatically flash across the screen at different times. The beta update now gives users entire control over the images and whether they would like to keep something in Photo Stream or not.

NEW: Photos taken using iOS 5.1 can be deleted from Photo Stream on your device and will be removed automatically from Photo Stream on your other iOS 5.1 devices. Older photos can be manually deleted from your iOS 5.1 devices.

Apple also released new versions of Xcode 4.3 and Apple TV software in order to correspond with the iOS 5.1 and has many bug fixes of its own. The last iOS 5 beta was seen last month on November 28th. iOS 5.1 will likely be released before Christmas or after the holiday break after a beta 3 is released to developers for testing.
