Like the idea of Android on a tablet device but not sure the Galaxy Tab’s 7″ is enough for your? Fear not, for soon you might just be able to get Android running on your Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) iPad.
You read that right folks. The guys over at Computerworld are reporting that a new hack called OpeniBoot will allow the booting of unsigned code on the device. What does this mean? Well, basically, with a bit of work Android could be made to run on the iPad hardware – great news for tinkerers the world over. Bearing in mind it’s already possible to install Android on various iPhone models, it was only a matter of time until the iPad was next.
To illustrate the point, the guys behind OpeniBoot have released a video showing the app running on an iPad, with terminal commands being sent to it. All funky stuff!
