Apple will reportedly be refreshing the iPad twice a year now, with the lineup consisting of both the full sized iPad and the iPad mini. Brian White of Topeka Capital Markets is suggesting that industry sources are pointing to launch of both the fifth generation iPad 5G and the second generation iPad mini in March. The conclusion was made by White after CES 2013 in Las Vegas from January 8-11.

The fifth generation iPad is likely to retain similar internals, but would be updated with an all new design, one similar to the one on the current iPhone 5. This may include the new slate/black and white/silver designs as well as the crystalline diamond cut edges which gives the device the “continuous” look, with the glass and aluminum meshing together. The iPad mini, which already has the latest design may retain its current form factor, however, it may be upgraded with the same A6 chip in the iPhone 5 and perhaps an 8 megapixel camera.

It is unclear if Apple will include the Retina Display in the iPad mini as that would mean a slight increase in thickness to house a bigger battery, although if the company switches to an IGZO display, it would not have to sacrifice thickness. White also previously claimed that Apple is looking to introduce new iPhones this summer in multiple colors and sizes. The credibility of these rumors remain unclear.
