Gem Hunt Rating:
Gem Hunt is a simple game of match where the aim of the game is pair up matching gems as the float around the screen. Sounds simple, and that’s because it is.
The game is paid for via in app ads these can be turned off via an in-app purchase but at the time of writing what the price of turning off the ads will be is not known.
A countdown from 3 starts the game and as the countdown hits one you are presented with a screen of approximately 12 gems and at the same time your count down of 60 seconds starts as you are tasked with scoring as many points as you can within the time limit.
Matching the gems is completed by simply dragging one gem to another, a line will appear on the screen showing the direction you drag in and as soon as you let go the selected gem will fly across the screen, hopefully hitting a matching gem and disappearing.
This continues as the clock count downs and at the end of 60 seconds you get a score, hopefully better than your previous score. Did I mention how easy this game was? Unfortunately it’s not just easy to play, it’s also easy to get bored, bored very quickly as that is all there is the game.
Even the Game Center integration is limited to a leader board only, no achievements to add value to the game at all.
The in game ads make reference to Gem Hunt Deluxe with extra features and no ads, I would recommend that if you are at all interested in this game you wait for the deluxe version that will hopefully provide more entertainment, fun and value for money.
- Easy to play
- Only 1 game mode
- Game only lasts 60 seconds
- Seem like a commercial for other games
