Monday was Cyber Monday in the US and many retailers gave steep discounts on many of their products online, including Apple that reduced prices on some of its products for Black Friday. Alongside the price reductions, Apple is now offering Free Shipping on all US online orders through December 22nd.
The holiday shopping season is a major profit period for retailers across the US, and Apple is expected to experience heavy sales during this time of year.
Free shipping from Apple typically requires a minimum $50 purchase, so the new program offers customers the opportunity to save money even on low cost purchases such as cases, chargers, and other accessories. Apple is also offering other incentives to those shopping on their website, giving customers free engraving on iPods and iPads, signature gift wrapping and build-to-order Macs.
Apple’s Free Shipping promotion is different in all parts of the world, with New Zealand receiving free shipping through December 25th and others including Canada and United Kingdom only receiving it on Monday. Apple is setting itself up for the holiday shopping season, settling down with its current line-up of iPods, iPhones, and iPads as well as their current Mac offerings. Free Shipping from Apple is truly a big deal, as it is rarely offered or only offered on newly introduced products such as the iPhone 4S.
