FaceTime for iPhone 3GS [FaceIt-3GS Jailbreak]

iPhone FaceIt-3GS Jailbreak Hack

When Apple launched the iPhone 4 earlier this year, one of the main selling points was FaceTime – video calling between iPhone 4s. Recently Macs were added to the FaceTime family, and now even iPhone 3GS owners can get into the action. Well, kinda.

iPhone FaceIt-3GS Jailbreak HackRedmondPie reports on an app that just became available on Cydia, the app store for jailbroken devices.

I say kinda, as the 3GS obviously doesn’t have a front-facing camera, and the other participant of the call won’t see anything at their end. You will, however, see what is being broadcasted from the other side. All fairly useless, but it’s a start.

The hack is available for download now from Cydia, and would love to hear from anyone that’s given it a whirl!

This tweak is available now on Cydia for free. All you have to do is to add http://apps.iphoneislam.com as repository in Cydia, and then search for “FaceIt-3GS” to install it. Once installed, reboot your iPhone 3GS and navigate to Settings –> Phone and turn on the toggle for FaceTime.
