You draw shapes either in squares, circles or triangles around the floating shapes you are trying to clear. So if you see a few circles floating either draw a circle round one of them or all of them. When the shape is over them tap the screen and it clears them away. You can draw a shape then drag it over to the floating shape or actually draw it over the shape first. You have to work out what is the best quickest way. You keep doing this, clearing the shapes off the screen under the ticking of the timer. You have to make your way through the different levels and if you are unable to clear the screen before the time runs out you lose and the game is over.
As the timer ticks away it makes a noise which makes you panic because that means you are running slowly out of time. The more you try to rush and draw the shape the more errors you make and the shapes are not recognised. I felt the timer noise added to the gameplay it made you feel pressured and therefore more of a challenge to complete. Don’t get me wrong even if the timer didn’t make a noise it still is not that easy to complete each level. It takes several attempts before you will actually start to master it and do well.
There are two modes to play, Action which is your timed levels and Endless which is unlocked at level 12 and is as it says endless you just keep going for as long as you can but you are not under a time limit. The Action mode is very addictive. It is so fustrating when the clock runs out that you just want to keep trying and stop it from getting the better of you.
There is a help section which I recommend you read first. It explains the scoring but also the game instructions. It took me a few attempts to figure out the actual gameplay though even after reading them. Within the app it keeps a record of your highscores but also online scores of every other player. Great to let you compete with people all over the world.
The UI of the app was impressive. It is a notepad with colourful drawings and hand drawn writing on it. It goes well with the game and is unique to many other apps. The sound effects are quite good. The music was a bit annoying but you can turn this down, the sounds it made when clearing shapes, tapping the screen, drawing or paper crumpling up was great! It suited the UI perfectly.
There are lots of levels to work through and you can be assured it won’t be completed any time soon. It really is a great challenging game once you find your feet. You can repeat any level you have completed previously so offers great replay value to improve your score. Altogether it is a great game to keep you entertained for hours.
