Game Review: Ditzzle – Simplicity At It’s Best!

[rating: 3.5/5]

Some games game use simplicity as a selling point and if that was all a game needed to be a success Ditzzle would be a 5/5. However a game needs a little more than just that.

This game compiles over 100 alphanumeric puzzles for your enjoyment at any time, any place. Not sure what an alphanumeric puzzle is? Think of it as extreme Hangman or Jumble.

Ditzzle is a puzzle game and that one puzzle is a letter equation where you need to guess the words in a sentence where you are only given the initials and some numbers such as “365 D in a Y”. I won’t give you the answer as that’s the first puzzle in the game but all 100 puzzles in this game take exactly the same form. All you need to do is fill in the missing words and you are good to go.

After getting the correct answer you are taken to the next puzzle where as if you get the answer wrong the words are highlighted for you, green for any right words and red for the wrong ones. This makes it pretty easy guess even if you don’t know the answers. There is no limit to how many guesses you can make, no time limit to how long you take and with the previously mentioned help thrown in completing this game is not going to take you too long.

Everything is done well, the puzzles are displayed in a chalkboard style, controls are simple and the background music is offensive, however Ditzzle is a one trick pony, it does that trick well but if you want a little more bang for your buck you may need to look elsewhere especially considering that once you’ve played the game once there is zero replay value.
