Apple set to release an iPhone Retail Store app

AppleInsider are reporting that Apple is set to launch an iPhone App Store app tomorrow (Tuesday) that will allow iPhone users to make Genius bar appointments, as well as pre-order the new iPhone 4. It will also offer location awareness features so that you can find your closest Apple Retailer, and perhaps even check on availability of items.

This rumour makes sense. It’s a great marketing move. Plus, Apple already have web services for customers to make reservations and pre-orders. So bringing this to the iPhone is a no-brainer.

Last week Apple released an iPhone app for App Store Developers so that they can monitor their sales. That free app is called “iTunes Connect Mobile”. I currently use it, and can share with you that it’s great to be able to dial into my iTunes Connect stats when on the move.

Would you like to order your iPhone 4 from your current iPhone? Let us know your view in the comments.

UPDATE: The app is now available for free and is called ‘Apple Store’.
