Apple Preparing Early iPad mini Shipments for November 2nd Delivery
With Apple’s white iPad mini pre-orders already sold out, shipping times for some of the models are not available to ship for at least two weeks. However, even with this delay for the 16GB Black and Slate model and some of the white models, Apple is preparing to ship iPad minis out to customers who successfully submitted their pre-orders on Friday which was the first day it was available.
These pre-orders are expected to be delivered on November 2nd, which is also the day that the iPad mini will go on sale in Apple’s Retail Stores and in third party retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart, although it is very likely that these chains will have limited models and capacities to offer customers. Apple typically tells delivery companies to hold shipments for delivery until the day the device becomes available in stores, although devices are often delivered early.
This was seen with the third generation iPad and iPhone 5 earlier this year, with may users reporting that their devices arrived several days before the expected date of delivery. Some international countries are experiencing 2 week delivery dates for all models of the iPad mini, and Apple has promised that the cellular models will be available in mid-November as they typically take longer to manufacture, test, and ship.
