Apple is expected to announce iPhone 5 / 4S in August which will feature an all-new design according to a new rumor published by BGR. This is contrary to previous reports which claimed that the Cupertino based company would keep iPhone 4’s design and just include dual core chip and a better camera.

We have been told by a reliable source to expect a radical new case design for the upcoming iPhone, though we have not been given any additional details surrounding the design of the new iPhone case.

The latest report goes against many others who pegged a new iPhone release in September, around the iPod refresh and iOS 5 release. Many other claims from numerous sources say that the iPhone will retain it’s current design with internal upgrades such as the A5 chip and more RAM.

If the latest rumors turn out to be true then iPhone 5 / 4S could feature tapered edges to look more like the iPad 2 design. It is also believed that the home button in next gen iPhone could be enlarged and used as a gesture area. The company could also be considering increasing the screen size from 3.5 inch to 3.7 inch according to This is my next.

iPhone 5 didn’t make an appearance during this years WWDC which has lead many to believe that the launch could coincide with the release of iOS 5.
