It’s awards time at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, and Apple’s iPhone 4 has managed to win the coveted ‘Best Mobile Device’ award – without the Cupertino outfit even attending.
According to reports from the event, Apple’s smartphone was praised for its “great screen, sharp design, fantastic materials, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In a tight race, the iPhone 4 built on the success of its predecessors to set the pace for smartphones.”
Thankfully for Apple, all the furore surrounding ‘Antennagate’ hasn’t managed to detract from the overall wonder that is the iPhone 4’s industrial design, and it’s great to see it being honoured in such a way. Certainly, iPhone 4 sales haven’t been affected with millions upon millions sold worldwide and those numbers will only increase now the handset is available on more then one carrier in the United States, courtesy of Verizon.
The only question now, is what does the world of smartphones have up its sleeve to make sure the iPhone 5 doesn’t take the crown next time around?
