The iPad 2 will be available (to most of the rest of us) in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK on March 25
And Apple promises it will be in many more countries around the world in the coming months, and further international availability and pricing will be announced at a later date.
Let’s hope they get it out to Asian countries officially a little quicker than they did with the iPad, which hit Thailand’s Apple Store (for example) just in time to be made obsolete a few weeks later! Meanwhile it had been selling on the grey import market at 2 to 3 times its actual retail price – after being shipping in in droves from the US by mules. If you are desperate to get hold of an iPad 2 and are in Asia, Bangkok and the mega-store MBK is always a good bet 24 – 48 hours after a US launch. Just sayin’
Some people are already camping outside Apple stores in the US to get their iPad 2 first. But if you really don’t want to brave the crowds, would like your iPad engraved, and delivered to your door, and you don’t absolutely have to have it the second they are available in Apple Stores… then ordering online is the best bet for you.
Otherwise you’ll need to be down at your local Apple Store at 5pm on Friday.
Whichever way you get your iPad 2. In the US at a physical store. Or via an online order. Or even via a friend, relative or mule, who picks one up for you in the US. We’d like to hear your iPad 2 first impressions, and stories here at Touch Reviews.
Wax lyrical in the comments about the second coming of Apple’s tablet!
