Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is set to open its 5th retail store in New York City, in Grand Central Terminal. Grand Central is one of the busiest train terminals in all of New York City and connects to multiple trains lines that run throughout the entire city. AAPL officially disclosed the date for the opening on the board above the current construction site, which is almost complete.

Apple (AAPL) is opening their Grand Central location next Friday, December 9th. The company opened its Upper West Side location on a Saturday in 2009, but likely moved it to a Friday because of the high traffic area in which it is located. During Appleā€™s grand openings, Apple usually gives out limited edition t-shirts to the first 10,000 visitors.

Apple now has stores in all parts of Manhattan, including downtown, Upper West Side, and Midtown. They have yet to open a location on the Upper East Side, which is currently lacking in high traffic retail locations.

With the public opening on Friday, there will be a press only opening on Thursday, December 8th. Apple has not yet sent out a formal letter announcing the opening of the Grand Central store, but will likely send them out soon.
