Since the passing of Apple Visionary, Steve Jobs, a number of tributes have aired on television, including a 60 Minute special, as well as a rerun of Pirates of Silicon Valley, a movie created during the height of Job’s career.

Rumors of another Steve Jobs film are on the rise, suggesting that Steve’s biopic may be written by popular writer, Aaron Sorkin. Aaron Sorkin is the writer of The Social Network, the award winning film about the life of Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook and the founding of his multi billion dollar company.

Sony Entertainment has officially obtained the rights to the biopic which will be based off the biography of Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaccson. If accepted, Sorkin would now be writing about a second genius from Silicon Valley, who created a multi billion dollar company from scratch. Sorkin and Steve Jobs do have a bit of history together, when Steve Jobs, during his time at Pixar, asked Sorkin to write one of their animated films. Sorkin politely declined, saying:

The truth is I don’t know how to tell those stories. I have a young kid who loves Pixar movies and she’ll turn cartwheels if I tell her I’m writing one and I don’t want to disappoint her by writing the only bad movie in the history of Pixar.

A film about such a complicated person, who so recently died is a tough film to write, and whether Sorkin takes up the job, or another writer, it’s guaranteed to have an excellent story and superb casting.
